Weekend Recap Atlanta Trip

Hey guys!! I hope you had a wonderful Halloween weekend and stayed warm. We took or first weekend vacation on our own, and went to Atlanta! The weekend was full of laughs, driving, fun, fish, Coke, food, freezing, and enjoying each other.

Hello Atlanta

As we left, sunrise

My wonderful Hubby who did such a great job
driving for hours and hours.
Hubby was able to take a few days vacation and had planned to use one on Halloween and we decided that we wanted to take a trip. He has always wanted to see the Georgia Aquarium so we decided it was the perfect time to do it. This is the first weekend trip over our almost 5 years together that we said we wanted to do and then just did it, we got to plan it all the way we wanted and do it on our own.  We decided to go to the Coca-Cola world as well as the aquarium, plus some great restaurants.

We headed out early Friday morning, read 4:30 am, and started the 8 hour drive. To keep ourselves occupied I had found some fun games, now as lame as they really are it kept me awake and us thinking about things other then the fact we were driving straight for hundreds of miles at a time. We played the ever fun alphabet game, which when started in the middle of a town and someone gets an A very quickly and it’s the only one for most of the town it makes the game go very quickly. Well for a little bit until they hit J and get stuck and the other gets to catch up. Can you tell which one I am, yeahhh the one who got to catch up. This game can become very frustrating at some letters such as J, K, S, Y and Z. Pretty much no words start with Z that are on signs, I did finally find a Zaxby’s and one the first game. We also went wrote down all the state license plates we found, we ended up for the whole trip having 19 plus Ontario, Canada.

We ate at Fellenie’s Pizza in Buckhead, which if you’re not from the area is just another downtown Atlanta. This Pizza was some of the best I’ve ever had and I have had a lot of pizza. We ordered Italian Sausage, and instead of it looking like ground meat like normal it was slices of sausage and it was so so good.

I thought to take a picture after we had already pulled some slices off.

We also went to the Lenox mall for a while, this place is awesome and has a ton of high end stores! I went into my first Bloomingdale's and Nimum Marcus which both have a ton of stuff that is highly highly over priced. The mall was 3 stories high, had multiple restaurants in it including this pizza place in the middle. They even had a Forever 21 that was giant with a mens section, never seen that before. It was a really cool mall, I was hoping to see a Real Housewife though.

I took pictures of a lot of different buildings just because here in Arkansas we don't have huge tall buildings, which I am glad for.

This was a Huge 4 story Dick's store!
Saturday we went to the Georgia Aquarium and we have waited for years to go. It did not disappoint at all. Here are a few pictures that I took and a link to pretty much the entire aquarium in photos that Hubby posted to Reddit. To see more click here and here.

Hard to see but Hubby is inside the bubble

Turtles!
I got to Selfie with the penguins, they had
little pods you could stand in inside the case.
Close up of mister penguin

Baluga Whale

Manta Ray!!

Hubby doing his thing, he loves aquariums so
much, he basically made the 8 hour drive for this.

Jelly/Neddle fish! So pretty

Aren't these pretty

Video of Neddle fish, so fun to watch
them move

Reef tanks were so pretty! This is now my
phone background. Love it and all the colors

We saw the show Dolphin Tales, it was incredibly cheesy but very impressive.
The trainers and dolphins do some amazing work.
Then we went to Coca-Cola World, it was so cool! Throughout my life my parents have always loved Coke things, we have had a ton of ornaments, a cookie jar, a blanket and I’m sure so many other things. To go here was like going back to my childhood, seeing some things that I actually have, maybe they aren’t as old as some of those, but I did see some little polar bears that I have sitting in a box right now.

There is a Vault room that at the end of the little tour talking about the Coke secret you actually see the real vault that is holding the only written copy of the Coca Cola Formula, yes it is actually there it got moved to the location for their anniversary. If you got to close to the vault the alarm went off, it went off quite a few times while we were there, kids really wanted to get closer.

There was a tasting room where you could try all the different kinds of products they made, Parker tried every single one.

And here is the Polar Bear who I did not
want to spend time in line to take a picture
with so here's a head shot haha
For dinner we went to Two Urban Licks. This is a very interesting restaurant and atmosphere. We had reservations, which was good because they were full and turning people away.  We got there a little early and sat at the bar while we waited for our table and I got their version of sangria and let me say it was the best drink I have probably ever had. It was sweet and fruity, had little taste of alcohol and maybe even a red wine I would actually like to drink.

The kitchen here is in the middle of the restaurant and not as large as you would think they needed but they got the food out very efficiently, and the whole place smelled liked grilled meat. The chef has been on Iron Chef against Bobby Flay which he lost, but very few won against Bobby, but it is very impressive to be chosen and he is very good. He’s a great chef the food all looked beautiful and was done perfectly. I ordered the Duck which was served with greenbeans, a corn puree (amazing!!!), charizo, and a sherry sauce. It was so delicious. Dinner is served with Cibatta bread and a chili infused olive oil, which was just awesome!

Sunday we headed home playing the same games and this time Hubby got to win :)

We made it!!
We picked up our Tesla who grew over two days but was very well taken care off at JMC Puppy Park. If you are in the Central Arkansas area I highly recommend them anytime you need to leave you dog. They are very affordable and have large cages and patios for each dog.

She's so big!! But was so happy to be home.
I hope you had a great weekend and wish you a great week ahead.
