Honeymoon/ Carnival Cruise Overview

Hey there! Well last post I rambled on a little bit about being married is a big change, but I didn’t get to share any of the awesomeness that was my first week of marriage, the HONEYMOON.

We were gifted by my very generous in laws a 7 day cruise to the Caribbean.  Aboard the Carnival Dream we lounged, played games, ate amazing food, relaxed, and got to see some gorgeous places. We went to Cozumel first. Where I snorkeled for the first time ever, I sure have been missing out. After the initial fear of putting my face into the water and breathing through a tube it was good.  Oh my gosh we had some great Mexican food as well, I had enchiladas, 4 with a ton of rice and beans for $6, that were so delicious. Parker had chicken street tacos that were also great. Then we explored around the port area and shopped. Here are a few pictures.

Then we went to Grand Cayman which was a very interesting place. We went on an excursion with a third party to swim with the sting rays and do a reef snorkel. I enjoyed the sting rays, they swam right next to us, we even got to hold one and kiss it. Parker on the other hand was fine with holding the friendly one with the barb removed but not so much with the ones swimming around our feet. But since I really wanted to do it he was a trooper and went with me. The snorkel this time was very pretty as well and we got to see more of a natural ocean setting.
The last stop we had was in Montego Bay Jamaica where we bought a hop on hop off pass and just explored the island.  We went to a shopping center about 30 minutes away from port. Then we went down a little bit to a street where stores were, and we found Margaritaville which involved a lot of people acting crazy and signing along to the “It’s 5 O’clock Somewhere” and “Margaritaville”. If you are in Montego Bay you really need to go there it was a blast!

We had a total of three days at sea as well as every late afternoon and evening to just hang out on the ship. We played bingo, a little trivia, where we learned that we know very little about random topics, lounged around on deck, and ate like we hadn’t seen food in months. The food on the ship was overall very satisfying with many many options. Let’s start with 24 hour pizza place, as well as fro yo and ice cream, you see no one happier than the kid having ice cream for breakfast the first morning.  Lunch time was buffet style from the daily options like an American grill, pasta bar, burrito bar, and a Mongolian wok type place. To the larger buffets that had Italian some days, French, Caribbean, and American depending on the day. Dinner was nice they sat you and put the napkin in your lap and practically forced you to have 3 courses every night including a lavish desert.  One night we made reservations at the steak house on board which was just some of the best food we have ever had.
