Book Review Food A Love Story by Jim Gaffigan

I received this book from blogging for books in exchange for my honest review. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

I originally ordered this book as a Christmas gift when I had no idea what to get someone on my list. I figured it would be a fun read. I ended up finding a much better gift and giving them it instead. So here I was with Food-A Love Story by comedian Jim Gaffigan. This is not my typical book to read but I know that Gaffigan is pretty funny and is known for his food humor so I sat down to read.

I am glad to say that this book does not disappoint at all. Gaffigan embraces his unhealthy relationship with food and laughs about it. The first few chapters talk about how he loves to eat and just doesn't stop. There were multiple times when I let out a laugh, his comedy comes through just as well in written form. The book goes on to talk about the geographic food map of the country, which is great. Then he talks about healthy trends, meats, a lengthy chapter on cheese, and so much more.

There are a lot of chapters as you look at the index but I quickly realized that they are all very short, making for a quick read. I laughed my way through the whole thing, he has a way with making perfect sense in a hilarious way.

Would I recommend this book? YES to someone who enjoys food, a easy read, and a comedic approach to talking about food.

My Rating- 4 stars You can find the book here. ( there are even a few chapters as an excerpt.)

What have you read lately? Anything surprise you by being better then you expected. I'm also reading a new book coming out the 26th of January about trusting God, I will share it with you soon. As always I would love to hear from you so leave a comment.

  1. I've been wondering if this book was any good! Thank you for the review, Renee. I'll have to put it on my list. Glad to hear it was funny! The best book I've read lately is Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. Loved it! I didn't expect to like it as much as I did.
