A couple weeks ago while Hubby and I were visiting home we
ate lots of yummy food. Including these carrots and onions, my father in law
showed me how to make these and they are amazing!! I am so glad to share them
with you.
The cast of ingredients.
Start by just putting them in the pan and leaving them.
Adding in the water
Then the brown sugar and apple cider vinegar
All done
Caramelized Carrots and Pearl Onions
Ingredients:
1 bag baby carrots
2 cups of pearl onions
1 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
½ cup water
Directions:
- Put the oil, carrots and onions in the pan and let them sit. You want them to develop flavor so don’t touch them. Leave them until they are nice and brown.
- Add in the water.
- Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Until all the water is gone.
- Add in the brown sugar and cider vinegar. Boil until it is thick and syrupy, and all is covered. It takes about 5 minutes.
Just came here when I saw the title! Lady! I know this will be so good, and I cannot wait to make it!

ReplyDeleteSo glad you like it. I would love to hear how yours turns out!
DeleteI just pinned this, it sounds like the perfect easy side for any meal.
ReplyDeleteIt is my new favorite side dish! Let me know how it goes when you make it!
DeleteBlog makeover? I love the larger photos! Haven't ever cooked with pearl onions. Might have to give them a try.
ReplyDeleteYes I redid it this weekend. I'm glad you like it. Pearl onions are easy to forget about but they seem to make any meal look fancier. They are delicious and if you buy them frozen you don't have to deal with peeling them.
DeleteLow, medium or high heat at the beginning?
