McDonald's New McPick 2

   Have you heard the commercial for McPick 2, it's been stuck in my head for a couple of days now? It is quite catchy and got me wondering what the McPick 2 options were.

   McDonald's has begone to move away from their iconic Dollar Menu that, in recent years had been changed to the Dollar and More Menu with most items at the $1.19 price range. Now they are giving customers the choice of select menu items to pick two for $2, bringing the price of the items back down to $1 each.

   I love McDonald's for many reasons including their, what I like to call, premium items like their Chef Crafted Sandwiches and Premium Salads that cost a little more than the regular burger. But when I was a broke college kid and hungry, I loved that I could go and get a McDouble and a small fry for under $3 and make it through the rest of the day.

   I think the McPick 2 menu is great and has very popular items that everyone enjoys. The options are a McDouble, McChicken, Small Fry and Mozzarella Sticks. The menu lets you mix and match to make a customized value meal. Want mozzarella sticks and fries, go for it, want a McDouble and fries then that’s great too. You pick two in any combination and it's only $2, I don't know of a better deal around.

   This promotion will run until Feb. 8, but has the potential to be around for a long time. I personally hope it stays.

   What would your McPick 2 be? Mine would be a McDouble and Mozzarella Sticks, when they are fresh the cheese sticks are amazing!

   I've always enjoyed McDonald's chicken sandwiches; crispy, grilled, and of course, the McChicken. And now, there's the Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich...delicious.

Celebrate with Dessert at McDonald's

   Life has many reasons for celebration, sometimes just surviving the day is one.  Whether it’s a hard day at work, a test day at school or celebrating big news or accomplishments, I like to celebrate with dessert. McDonald’s is a great place to get a dessert to celebrate any occasion.

Behind the Counter: I got to cook at McDonald's

   Last week McDonald’s in Conway let the brand ambassadors come and work behind the counter. Now I have never worked fast food before so I wasn’t sure what would happen, but I was excited to go try it out. I ended up having a blast and learning a lot.

What's in that McNugget? Behind the Chicken at McDonald's!

   McDonald’s serves a lot of chicken! Of course, you already knew that though, I mean, who hasn’t ever tried a McNugget? They have many different types of chicken as well. I just found out they brought back the Southern Style Chicken Biscuit and was so pumped, plus they are 2 for $3!!! I am excited to share with you today TRUTH about the chicken that McDonald’s uses and how they make their McNuggets.

The Chickens

    McDonald’s recently released its new antibiotic policy. "McDonalds is committed to using chicken that is not raised with antibiotics important to human medicine. McDonald’s has been working closely with farmers for years to reduce the use of antibiotics in our supply, and are committed to stop using antibiotics important to human medicine in chicken production for McDonald’s USA by March 2017." Statement from McDonald's Corporate office.

   They will still use antibiotics to treat sick animals as needed, if it is medicine used in treating humans then that bird will not be purchased by McDonald's.

The Meat

McNuggets are made using white-meat chicken from the breast, rib, tender, and grind it with a bit of skin. Even though the meat is formed, it is 100 percent real chicken. They are formed in four shapes and partially fried then flashed frozen.  And then fully fried before serving.

Chicken sandwiches are made using 100% real chicken. Each sandwich has its own formula for which meat is used. The grilled chicken uses a breast filet with NO preservatives that is seared in-house. Crispy sandwich uses a breast filet as well. The McChicken is a blend of dark and white meat,

Chicken Selects are made using chicken tenderloin that is then battered and fried.

What is your favorite McDonald's Chicken??  Personally, I am a huge fan of the southwest chicken but the selects are so good!!
