Chef Crafted Bundles

I am required by the FTC to let you know that I am being compensated for these posts. I am not writing about McDonald’s for the compensation but because I love what the company is doing and want to share it with all of you. I'm Lovin' It!

McDonald’s is testing out its newest burger creations in three locations across the country and Central Arkansas is one of them. These new sandwiches have bold, fresh flavors that you get to pair with your choice of meat and bun.

The chefs of McDonald’s developed some wonderful flavors so that at least one would appeal to most everyone. With my food science degree and work with product development, I really appreciate the way that they have decided to go with these sandwiches. Making it a pick your combination is something that is not found in many fast food chains. It is very appealing to me as a customer because I can get the toppings on a meat of my choice, if I am in the mood for a healthier option I will go with the grilled chicken, on the days I am craving a burger I can still get my burger with the same flavor choices.

There are three flavor choices Pico Guacamole, Buffalo Bacon, and Maple Bacon Dijon. It can go on a quarter pound beef patty, grilled chicken fillet, or buttermilk crispy chicken filet. Put it all on an artisan or sesame seed bun. I am in love with the artisan bun and it elevates anything you get on it to the next level. Don’t get me wrong the classic bun is great but for now I will be eating an artisan bun with these.

  • The Pico Guacamole comes with pic de gallo, ranch, guacamole, white cheddar and leaf lettuce.

  • The Maple Bacon Dijon has maple bacon, savory grilled onions, mild creamy Dijon sauce, white cheddar and leaf lettuce.

  • The Buffalo Bacon comes with creamy blue cheese spread, spicy buffalo sauce, Applewood smoked bacon, freshly sliced tomato, and shredded green lettuce.

In the central Arkansas locations, Pico Guacamole has been the most popular choice on a grilled chicken filet. It also has the lowest calories of the three.  I decided to try the Maple Bacon Dijon on grilled chicken on an artisan bun. This did not disappoint at all. The chicken was delicious as always, they are generous with the onions which are cooked to perfection, the bacon is crispy with a wonderful flavor, and the Dijon sauce is wonderful.

The test market has been going very well in this area as well as the other two markets in the country. The test will end in December and if McDonald’s decides to keep them on the menu, the Central Arkansas locations will continue to sell them and they will become nationwide in the following months. At a tasting event in Little Rock last week the manager said that by the numbers and good reports coming in, he would not be surprised to see the products stay.

Which one would you try? Leave a comment and you will have a chance to win a free sandwich. Must live in Central Arkansas area.

  2. I love them all! I like the pico guacamole on artisan with beef and the buffalo one on chicken. They are all so good though. And I like how I can mix them up.
