Premium Salads at McDonald's

I am a brand ambassador for McDonald’s of Central Arkansas and am being compensated for this post, all thoughts and opinions though are my own.

I’m always looking for healthier options on the road and McDonald’s has made that easy with many of their menu items, including three Premium Salads.  I was surprised at the variety of these salads: Bacon Ranch, Southwest and Asian. There is an option for everyone and each salad can be ordered plain, with crispy chicken or grilled chicken.

Salads from McDonald's healthy and flavorful

As a consumer and frequent customer of McDonald's I really appreciate the quality and pride that they choose to have in all their ingredients. In their salads, McDonald's uses a blend of three lettuces romaine, baby spinach and baby kale.  All of which are produced in the United States, the source varies throughout the year so that it is harvested at the peak time.

The Premium Asian Salad with Crispy Chicken is made using the premium lettuce blend plus an Asian vegetable blend.  That includes edamame, red bell peppers, and snow peas. And if that didn’t sound like enough flavor it is topped with mandarin oranges and sliced almonds! The dressing served alongside it is a low-fat Sesame Ginger dressing that is quite delicious!

For all that flavor the nutrition facts are pretty awesome.  There are 410 calories, 23 grams of protein, and 32 grams of carbs. All around pretty good, have a water or unsweetened tea to drink and you have yourself a delicious lunch or dinner.

I would have never thought that when I wanted a salad I would think to go to McDonald's but I love that they have evolved their menu over the years to be diversified and serve healthier options for those who want them, while still being able to go have a Big Mac when the craving strikes! Have you ever tried a salad from McDonald's?
