McDonald's Famous Hamburger and the New Sirloin Burger

I am a brand ambassador for McDonald’s of Central Arkansas and am being compensated for this post, all thoughts and opinions though are my own.

McDonald’s hamburgers are world famous, a piece of American history in a bag with an order of delicious fries and a soft drink. Their beef burgers include a 100% beef patty with all the trimmings. You can choose from bacon, lettuce, tomato, red onion, honey barbecue glaze and a smoky peppered mayo, and so much more all in a cheese-topped bun.

Kid Meals were the taste of my childhood, a #6 Double Cheeseburger with fries is the taste of my present (especially to take on a picnic with my hubby), and now, the taste of the future for me is the new sirloin burger.

I love the double cheeseburger so much and never really thought about what the beef was made with. There have been so many rumors to what goes into beef patties and how much of it is actually beef. I’m thrilled to say that 100% is real beef!

McDonald’s has a neat feature on their website called “OurFood Your Questions” where you can find information on menu options.  Any customer can go and learn about how their food is made and where it comes from.  So let’s see what beef they use.

Like I said above, all patties are made with 100% ground beef. Trimmings from chuck, round, and sirloin that are ground then formed into patties. Those patties are flash frozen to ensure fresh flavor. This means there are no artificial preservatives in them. This meat comes from many states across the U.S., New Zealand and Canada.

This video shows the process first hand at a Cargill plant.

The new Sirloin burgers are one-third pound all served on a premium bun! There are three different types, the steak house with mushrooms and onions, the bacon and cheese with bacon, cheese and traditional fixings, and the lettuce and tomatoes with traditional toppings. They are made with 100% North American Sirloin. They are for a limited time so get them while you can!!

I tried the Steakhouse Burger and let me start by saying it smelled so delicious in the bag! The bun was soft and fluffier then the regular buns they use. There were a good amount of onions and mushrooms, it made it very easy to taste all the wonderful flavors. It was large enough that just one filled me up for hours! Perfect for lunch or dinner, and packed with 39 grams of protein! You need to go try one!

These are the 3 different types you can get. Top cheese and bacon, bottom left lettuce and tomato, bottom right steakhouse.
