Married Monday: Importance of Praying With and For your Husband

Last week we discussed the importance of spending time with God and how it can affect your marriage. This week we are going to discuss why prayer, praying for your marriage and husband are important. Prayer is your lifeline/connection to God. We have the ability to talk with the one who can perform miracles and can help in any circumstance!

Praying with Your Husband

Praying together deepens your communication, unites you spiritually, and it helps to build your marriage. You say things to God that you may not say to your spouse in a normal conversation, but praying together your spouse will hear those things.  This will let them know the things that are on your heart, the things that are troubling you, and same for you.

You grow an ever deeper connection when you become completely open, honest, and humble in front of each other. You become united in front of God praying together as one. All the issues that you face alone and as a couple can be dealt with so much better if you are praying together instead of alone. Matthew 18:9 shows that two together have more power than one, ”that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is heaven.”

As you spend time communicating with God then he will build you up. The same thing happens when you pray as a couple; your marriage is built up. Even if your marriage is model it could always use some extra building up.

Praying for Your Husband

As you hear the things that are most important to your husband it will give you more of an idea of what to pray for him. There are some great websites that will send daily prayers to your email that you can pray for your husband. I love these extra reminders throughout the day.Unveiled Wife is my favorite, click on the link to sign up.

Pray every day for your husband to be led to be who God wants him to be. To be the leader of your family that he is called to be. Ask for the things that your husband needs. Ask for the things that you need from your husband. Thank God for giving you your husband.

Here is a nice picture that shows how you can cover your husband in prayer from head to toe.
