Cupid Candy: A Twist on Puppy Chow

Cupid Candy. A twist to the classic Puppy Chow using cake batter

It’s almost Valentines and we all know that means candy! I have done a little twist on Puppy Chow that is just perfect to share with your Valentines.
Ingredients
  • 5 cups Rice Chex
  • 1 cup Cake Mix (I used pink velvet, vanilla would be the same)
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • ½ bag Chocolate Chips (Hershey’s milk chocolate)
  • 1 bag M&Ms (valentines mix)
  • Any other mix-ins you would like

1. Melt the chocolate, stir in the chex until evenly coated.

2. Combine the sugar and cake mix in a bowl or plastic baggie. Add the chex and shake until coated. There will be some in the bottom when it looks like they are all coated, keep shaking  or using your hand to mix it up. They will be coated white when you’re done, there may be a bit of powder left in the bottom that is ok.

3. Dump in the M&Ms and any other mix-ins you would like, I had some heart sprinkles that I added, but they were small and went to the bottom.

Now warning this is very addicting so it would be wise to bag up what you want to give away prior to sitting down with some to snack on, because there may not be much left when you’re done.

  1. I told my fiance I liked your Valentine's puppy chow last week when I saw the picture and he asked "what's puppy chow?..." I couldn't believe he'd never heard of it. Actually....it doesn't really surprise me. But it's sad. Ha! This looks great, Renee.
