Last week myself and three other Arkansas Woman Bloggers had
a chance to go check out Art on the Green in Conway and meet a few of their
artist. Museums were a big part of my childhood, anytime we went anywhere we
would go to museums and art galleries. So naturally I loved the idea to go
check out some local art. Now I am not really arty, I do like to think I’m
crafty, but arty no I can barely draw a straight line, or have the patience to
finish a full painting. These people though, they have so much talent and it
was so cool to meet the person behind the painting.
There was of course delicious food. The little petifores are
from Julia’s Bake Shop in Conway and they were delicious!!
They also have classes that you can come and paint your own
painting, either watercolor or oil and more on the way. They also have glass
fusion classes, which you can bet I will be at the next time they come up.
Isn't this little dish so cool! I hope I make something that looks so cool. |
Here are some of my favorites.
These are by Harold Kraus. these are each $2,100 a piece I so wish I could have them!! |
"Psalm 139 22" by Gail Thorson Morris I love the colors in this one. |
"Dusty Morning" by Kristen Vaughan. I have always loved horses and this picture is just lovely. |
"Santa Sips the Brew" by Bob Snider Santa looks so happy in this one. |
Their in house artist Parilee Croft was kind enough to make us recipe cards that have watercolor pictures on them. They are amazing. While we were there she was working on mine and it was amazing to watch. These make awesome gifts for only $25 a piece, I am thinking of which recipes I want to do next.
To keep up with what is going on over at Art on the Green and to see when classes will be held follow them on... Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube or their website
We got some great gift bags which always makes these blogger
events even better. We were given two different prints of paintings in the
gallery and done by local artist. They are to giveaway! That’s right you have a
chance to win a numbered and signed print of one of these paintings.
I love this, titled “Joy” by Nina Baker you can feel the
happiness that the girl has holding the lamb.
There are many Santa paintings at the gallery that are
beautiful but this one is my favorite. I had a chance to talk with the artist
Kristen, she is such a sweet person with great talent.
"Mr. Clause" by Kristen Vaughan |
To enter leave a comment on which of these two is your favorite, and be be sure to like my facebook page.I will pick a winner Friday.
I love Joy. It makes me happy to look at it. I have little girls who carry their cats around and hug them. It looks a lot like that.
ReplyDeleteI must say my first thought was it was a girl and a cat.. not until I went to write this did I realize it was a sheep. Art can be determined by the viewer as well lol
